Tropical Disturbance to move into the Gulf of Mexico

The National Hurricane Center is giving an area of low pressure a low 20% chance for development

Tis' the season as the official start of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season is just 11 days away.

The National Hurricane Center issued a Special Tropical Weather Outlook on Monday morning as they are watching an area of low pressure in the Northwest Caribbean Seas. Conditions are unfavorable for development over the next couple of days, however, gradual development is possible later this week as this system moves north into the Gulf of Mexico.

As of now, locally heavy rain across Cuba and Florida will be the primary threat over the next couple of days.

It is too early to determine what, if any, impacts this system may have on the central Gulf Coast.
