When to expect weekend rain

The WEAR-TV forecast calls for showers and some thunderstorms to move through early Saturday morning.

It's a week and weekend of ups and downs with temperatures and rain chances.

The WEAR-TV area is likely to see rain and thunderstorms early Saturday morning with most of the rain falling before the sun comes up or around sunrise.

The storm system possesses a threat of severe weather for most of the Southeast. An enhanced and slight severe weather risk area is outlined Friday and Friday night for areas of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and some surrounding zones. The WEAR-TV area is under a marginal risk for severe weather, which is a 1 on the scale from 1 to 5 with a 5 being the highest risk.

If any strong storms strike the WEAR-TV area, the timing will be very early Saturday morning.

A front will pass over Saturday, taking any storms with it to the east. Some rain wil possibly linger behind the front Saturday afternoon and evening, but strong storms will not follow the front.

Cold air certainly will follow the front. Lows Saturday night into Sunday morning could again dip into the 40s.
