Woman accused of popping children with comb and shoe
PENSACOLA, Fla. (WEAR) —
A Pensacola woman is being charged with child abuse after a Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) received a complaint that a toddler was spanked so hard that he fell to the ground.
Escambia County Sheriff's Office (ECSO) deputies arrested Diamond Nicole Michelle Walker, 24, of Pensacola on Thursday, February 8th.
According to an ECSO arrest report, a deputy responded to the Gulf Coast Kids House on Thursday in response to a child abuse complaint.
The arrest report states that a DCF employee told deputies that on February 7th the agency received a tip that a two-year-old boy had been spanked so hard that he fell to the ground.
The DCF employee visited the child's daycare and saw two large bruises on his back, according to the arrest report.
ECSO arrest report details state that the DCF employee asked the boy and his two older brothers if Walker had caused the bruises and all three boys said "yes". The report said that the two older boys had old bruises on their bodies as well.
The arrest report also states that when a child protective team member spoke with all three children, they told her that Walker "pops them with a comb and shoe".
Walker has been charged with third-degree felony child abuse and is being held on a $100,000 bond at Escambia County Jail.
