Young couple dead after apparent murder-suicide at Fort Walton Beach home

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. -- A young couple is dead after an apparent murder-suicide at a Fort Walton Beach home, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies on Monday found the bodies of a 21-year-old and 24-year-old in a bedroom of a homeon Mariah Way offLewis Turner Boulevard.

Deputies arrived at the home around 2:30 p.m. for a welfare check after a call from a concerned friend of the woman. She said she wasn't able to contact anyone at the home since Saturday.

Deputies gathered additional information that led them to make entry into the house.

"The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office is investigating an apparent domestic-violence related murder/suicide after finding the bodies of a young couple in their home," the sheriff's office said in a press release Monday night.

The investigation is ongoing.

The names of the deceased were not released.
