Autistic boy's father accused of killing him in Tennessee, hunt for body ongoing

DICKSON, Tenn. (WZTV) - The father of a missing autistic boy is accused of killing his son and has been charged with criminal homicide.

According to jail records, Joseph Daniels was booked into Dickson County Jail at 6:24 a.m. Saturday. He’s being held on a $1,000,000 bond.

Joe Clyde Daniels, five, was non-verbal and autistic. He has been missing from his Garners Creeks Road home since Tuesday night.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they believe Joe's dad killed his son that evening.

TBI held a news conference Saturday morning, saying Joseph Daniels has been charged in his child's death.

Volunteers are not needed Saturday, but law enforcement agencies will now search for Joe's body.

Hundreds of volunteers and local agencies have been searching for Joe on air, on land and in waterways.
