New England jeweler will not give customers 'Let It Snow' refunds

Springer's Jewelers in New Hampshire and Maine promised qualifying customers more than $900,000 in free jewelry if it snowed more than 6 inches on Christmas in Portsmouth. (WGME)

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (WGME) – The New Hampshire and Maine-based Springer’s Jewelers announced that customers will not receive refunds as part of their “Let It Snow” promotion.

The promotion was supposed to offer refunds to customers if it snowed 6 inches or more on Christmas Day in Portsmouth.

An insurance company hired third-party Weather Analytics LLC. to conduct a measurement at the Portsmouth Springer's Jewelers location. Their official measurement came in at 4.3 inches.

A Christmastime blizzard covered some parts of Maine with more than 10 inches of snow. Unfortunately for Springer's customers, Portsmouth came up just short.

Altogether approximately 400 qualifying customers purchased more than $900,000 in jewelry in hopes of a big white Christmas deal.
