Baker earns spot in State Championship Game

Baker rolled past Port St. Joe 48-27 in the 1A State Semifinals and advances to the State Championship Game for the second time in three years. The battle of unbeatens was essentially over in the first half as the Gators built a 41-14 lead.

They shredded a Sharks defense that was giving up less than six points a game. Junior McLaughlin ran for 241 yards and four touchdowns as well as throwing for a score.

The Gators defense also got in on the scoring late in the first half as Bradley Inscore forced a forced a fumble that Derek Peoples ran back for a touchdown. Baker, now 13-0 on the season, will face number one ranked Madison County in the 1A State Championship Game on Thursday in Orlando.

The Gators will be trying to win the program's first state title since 1993.
