Choctaw advances to State Championship Game

Choctaw left no doubt in the 7A State Semifinals, blowing out Hillsborough 88-52 in Lakeland.

The Indians defense wreaked havoc coming up with a whopping 21 steals. Choctaw also displayed great team basketball ending up with 20 assists.

Star junior Diante Smith led the way with 21 points, eight assists, and four steals. Marquis Jackson scored 13 points, Josh Williams added 11 and seven steals.

The Indians now 27-2 on the season advance to the State Championship Game for just third time in program history and will try to win their first title on Saturday.

Choctaw will face Doral Academy at 1:00 p.m. central time.
