Crestview up for challenge in state semifinal
Crestview's playoff run takes the Bulldogs just outside Tampa, where they'll face traditional power Armwood in Seffner. The fourth-ranked Hawks are a daunting challenge, befitting a fourth-round opponent. Crestview has been more impressive with each week, especially during their playoff run, which is the deepest a Bulldogs team has made since the 2002 team reached the state final. But, Crestview Head Coach Tim Hatten calls Armwood their most talented opponent yet.
The Bulldogs have been held under 35 points just twice all year, and they scored 49 against both Navarre and Pine Forest. They have no apparent weak spot on offense. That balance has given fits to some really good defensive teams. Armwood's defense has pretty much dictated whatever it wants. They've held their last 7 opponents to 19 points, total. But, from what he's seen of Armwood, Hatten believes there may be some opportunities to pursue.
