New boss, high hopes at Catholic


Catholic High is trying to recapture its golden form from the start of the decade, and Matt Adams moves up from offensive coordinator to head coach to try to get them there. Adams does return most of the offense.

Quarterback Garrett Foley should benefit in his second year as a starter.

Big play running back Abram Smiley returns after missing most of last year and operates behind a veteran line. Seven defensive starters are back. A year older, and a year better, for the experience.

The Crusaders haven't had a winning season since their 12-1 campaign in 2013, but with the new playoff format there is no district to win. Every game, in a tough schedule, affects their playoff chances.
