April Baker is excited to be a part of the WEAR evening news team. You can find her anchoring the 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts on WEAR, and the 9 p.m. on WFGX.
Over the last six years, April has lived in four different states and is excited to call Pensacola, Florida her new home.
Prior to living in The Sunshine State, she anchored the morning and evening newscasts in The Natural State (Arkansas) for more than three years.
She also has reported in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Springfield, Massachusetts.
One of her most memorable, journalistic moments came in 2015 when she was part of the Charleston shootings where nine parishioners were murdered.
April has also covered a wide array of wild weather events including blizzards, tornados, and hurricanes during her time in news.
When she is not in the newsroom, April enjoys rollerblading, figure skating, photography, and exploring new areas.
