Brooke Richardson

Morning Meteorologist

Brooke joined the WEAR-TV weather team in November of 2020 as the morning meteorologist.

Brooke became fascinated by the weather when she volunteered in Alabama after the 2011 tornado outbreak. Witnessing how the weather can forever change someone’s life, Brooke became passionate about increasing the warning time before severe weather.

Brooke decided to follow this passion and attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, where she graduated with her B.S. in Meteorology.

After graduation, Brooke joined WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama as the weekend meteorologist. Brooke covered many severe weather events for WTVY, including Hurricane Michael on October 10, 2018. During Hurricane Michael, Brooke was on location in Port Saint Joe, Florida, during landfall where she spent days after the storm bringing the stories of the people in Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach to her viewers in Alabama.

Before joining the WEAR-TV weather team, Brooke was a part of the WJHG/WECP weather team in Panama City as the WECP meteorologist. Outside of work, Brooke enjoys exploring different nature trails, kayaking, and going on adventures with her pup Nado (short for tornado).

Brooke is excited to bring you your forecast every morning. If you have any weather questions, or if you have a cool picture send them her way at!
