Laura Hussey brings more than 25 years of broadcasting experience to her role as morning anchor at Channel 3 News.
Memorable moments include 9/11, when she was part of wall-to-wall coverage; and broadcasting live during a slew of Gulf Coast storms and hurricanes. She’s interviewed national and state leaders, but treasures the stories of people in our community, sharing the good times and helping each other through the tough times.
Laura’s reports on our local bases gave her strong bonds to the military, and led to the true privilege of flying on C-130s, a CV-22 Osprey and an F-15 fighter jet. She’s trekked through the swamp with Army Rangers and taken a spin in the F-35 simulator, where she managed not to crash the plane!
Laura came to Channel 3 in 2007, starting as the Okaloosa County reporter. In 2015, she became the weekend evening anchor. Her move to mornings combines her experience as an anchor and field reporter with her background as a top-rated morning show host in Country radio.
Co-anchoring “3 in the Morning” is a dream come true for Laura, and the most rewarding professional experience she’s ever had. She always welcomes your story ideas and feedback, and is truly grateful that you choose to share your mornings with us.
