Cold front slows its approach into NWFL

Rain is still expected Sunday, though the timing has changed a bit. A cold front will cross the WEAR-TV area Sunday night and ahead of that front, we can expect rain with a few thunderstorms possible.

Originally, we were thinking that the best chance for rain with isolated embedded thunderstorms would be Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The arrival of the cold front has slowed down a bit and it’s now looking like Sunday afternoon into the early evening will be the better chance for rain.

The Storm Prediction Center has the WEAR-TV area under a Marginal Risk for severe weather on Sunday.

That certainly doesn't mean that severe weather is likely but an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm can't be ruled out, especially during the afternoon and early evening.

The cold front will live up to the name, bringing chilly air into the area by Monday and we'll stay cooler through the week.
