Frost and Freeze Alerts issued

Photo: Pam Pursley. Clear skies and cold weather is forecast for Thursday morning. Lows will be in the 30s prompting some freeze and frost alerts.

There is a Freeze Warning in effect for much of the WEAR-TV area, but it leaves out the immediate coast. This warning is in effect from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. Frosty conditions could damage or kill sensitive plants if they are not protected.

There is a Frost Advisory in effect for the entire WEAR-TV area from 2:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. This means frosty weather is possible all the way down to the coast.

Overnight lows will be dipping into the 30s for nearly all of the WEAR-TV area. The barrier islands will likely have lows in the low 40s. Inland areas can expect freezing temps by Thursday morning.

High pressure will continue dominating our area, allowing for plenty of sunshine, but high pressure moves out as a low pressure moves in by Friday and into the weekend. Higher humidity and clouds will return for the weekend with some scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. The weekend rain chance is around 40 percent.

Spring Breakers can expect warmer temps heading into the weekend with highs in the 70s.
